justification, and the law only in Romans. Strecker’s presentation of Paul is followed by a chapter entitled “Early Christian Tradition to the Composition of the Gospels.” Although this includes an analysis of the proclamation of Jesus, this has only a historical function for Strecker and is not the basis of faith. Faith is based on “the eschatological promise of the word of God as it has occurred in the Christ event” and “on the Easter message as proclaimed at the first by the witnesses of the resurrection.”
